The cult chair J46 was designed by Poul M. Volther in 1956, but has lost none of its charm to this day. The V-shaped backrest with its fine wooden struts makes it recognizable and underlines the airy and light appearance of the chair.

Danish furniture designer Poul M. Volther was known for his unique talent in designing high-quality furniture for mass production. He designed some of the most iconic pieces of furniture of the era, which furnished many modern homes built during the advancement of the welfare state in the decades following World War II.
His simple, functionalist language was rooted in craftsmanship, and his furniture was designed to be flexible and adapted to everyday life.
His J46 Radius Back Chair from 1956 is one of his best-known designs and is the best-selling chair in Denmark.
